College 3-Point Line Moving Out
All men's college 3-point lines moved out one foot from 19-9 to 20-9 in the 2008-2009 season. The arc will remain a true arc unlike the NBA 3-point line which is cut off on each side. Making the Basketball Court Regulation Sized
When choosing a basketball goal to go on your basketball court the overhang is an important aspect of the system to consider. The regulation distance from the baseline to the front of the backboard is 4 feet. Most basketball systems available, at most, have a 4 foot extension arm (not overhang). This means that if you want an official perimeter baseline boundary (such that the basketball pole is not sitting on the base line), you need a basketball hoop system with a 5 foot extension arm.
What Size Basketball Court Do I Need?
Most two car driveways cannot fit much more than a free throw line although some larger driveways including 3 and 4 car driveways have enough room for a full college or NBA three point (3-point) line.
